| People obsess over the weirdest things and their thoughts are often strange and quite frankly disturbing in some cases. Not much you can do about it though, just facepalm and move on. Plus despite hating Lucky Star, I think comparing it to to High School Musical is a little too harsh. HSM is a much worse and much more mainstream plague on society. Unfortunately people still have some strange desire to lap it up as 'entertainment' despite the unintelligent and unimaginative bullshit that it is. Many of those people who love it simply do so because it has some supposedly 'hot' failure of an actor in it, whom personally I loathe nearly as much as the franchise itself. Anyway, the main reason I don't bring up my absolute disgust of HSM (or anything else not anime related, for that matter) on MAL is simply because it has no place here. If nobody had brought it up, I'd never have mentioned it and would've had no reason to express my opinion about it. |

| I started the whole hobby thing, because that is what it is. Alll i see in your posts are "you're a dork/loser if you have any sort of hobby". So you are a dork when you but stuff in a popular anime, you are a dork when you play golf, you are a dork if you have a favorite tv show that you dont miss an episode of, and you are "strange" when you purchase something after seeing an advertisement of. I don't see how reality TV can be a hobby, but obsessing over TV of any kind is a childish hobby whether it's star trek or k-on. You can't deny that. Having a hobby naturally requires you to spend money on it, different amounts for different hobbies. Sure, spending $750 on headphones that you probably won't use to their full potential is not the best use of money but it's not my place to judge; after all it's not my money. Anything you do that isn't necessary for your own survival is by definition a hobby or at least a recreational activity. Buying shit you don't need is also a hobby. |

| I would like to laugh at the idiocy of some here but that would just be rude. The selling out of the AKG K701 and the guitars are a prime example of successful advertising. Regardless of what you think, this just proves that this advertising channel is very powerful, to say the least. If buying stuff or whatever due to a viable form of advertising means one is easily influenced, then I think I should stop going to MacDonald's just because there's an advertisement of a new promotion; after all, it'll just mean I'm easily influenced. |
